Who Is This Work For?

Whatever your branch of service and whatever your story, your humanity is real and deserves honor.

Jupiter Pines Counseling provides a sanctuary where these complex feelings can be explored without judgment, fear, or the pressure to maintain a facade of stoicism or perfection.

Navigating the Invisible Wounds of Service

This specialized work with veterans and service members is designed for those navigating the unique psychological landscape of military life and its aftermath. Whether you are currently serving, recently separated, a dependent, or grappling with complex loyalties, we address:

  • The Transition Void: Anxiety and depression stemming from the loss of structure, routine, and clear command hierarchy; struggling to define identity outside of "Soldier," "Marine," "Navy," "MilSpouse,” etc.

  • Patriotic Grief & Moral Injury: The deep emotional toll of feeling betrayed by the institutions you served, or the internal conflict arising when your personal values clash with the realities of deployment and war.

  • The "Silent Doubt": Processing feelings of regret, questioning the necessity of service, or fear of judgment for not having a "clean" story of heroism. We provide space to voice doubts that feel dangerous to speak in other circles.

  • The Nomadic Spouse Experience: Grief from repeated relocations (PCS), loss of professional identity, isolation from support networks, and the emotional toll of uprooting children repeatedly.

  • PTSD & Hyperarousal: Symptoms where civilian life triggers combat memories, hypervigilance in crowds, or difficulty sleeping without a routine.

  • Reintegration Trauma: The shock of returning to a society that has moved on, often resulting in feelings of alienation and being misunderstood by family and friends who "don't get it."

  • Family Systems Challenges: Helping military children navigate frequent moves and parental deployment; supporting spouses managing their own mental health while caring for a wounded partner.

What is it like as a Jupiter Pines Counseling client?

Our approach is not a one-size-fits-all model derived from standard civilian protocols. It is an integrative framework built specifically for the unique cultural and psychological realities of the military community.

The Logistics

Why Private-Pay Matters for the Military Community

We believe that true safety and healing require an environment free from external constraints. For many in our community, the limitations of traditional systems can feel like a continuation of the lack of autonomy they experienced in service. That is why we operate on a private-pay model with these distinct advantages:

About Your Therapist

To those who serve, served, or love and belong to those who did:

I write this to you not just as a clinician, but as a fellow traveler, one who took their first breath in an overseas military hospital. My childhood had a soundtrack filled with stories of duty and honor, cadence calls, reveilles, pledges to allegiance, and laughter with buddies from Ranger School.

I did not serve my country to the extent that you or they did. Yet, I’m still acquainted with a profound weight of “patriotic grief.” I know what it feels like to invest your entire identity in a mission, only to learn it doesn't quite fit anymore. I know the terrifying isolation of doubting your identity, but feeling unable to speak it aloud for fear of losing your place in the community that raised you.

Jupiter Pines Counseling was founded on these beliefs:

  • there is so much more to your story than a uniform

  • the meaning of “belonging,” “home,” and “family” is not limited

  • doubts are not a sign of disloyalty

  • honoring the complexity of humanity is a necessary step to claiming the freedom for which you served

Whether you are struggling with the loss of routine, the pain of repeated relocations, or the moral weight of what you witnessed and participated in, we can work at your pace to rebuild a sense of self that honors your past while embracing the freedom and responsibility of your civilian future.

Peace on the home front was once your priority and honor. Now it is *my* honor to prioritize *your* peace. I’m here to support you and your family through what comes next with courage, curiosity, and dignity.
